Grandma + Grandpa's Pond

Something I don't blog about very often (not because I don't want to but I just don't seem to find the time) is more of my personal life. I have had several new followers on Facebook + Instagram so I kind of wanted to give you a small glimpse of what I take photos of when I am not working.

One of my goals this year is to get the camera out more often. Whether thats my professional cameras, a compact camera, phone camera or my film camera I have been starting to use. I want to try to document more of my life and what I enjoy.

This year I was given a film camera and I have never shot film nor do I know how to properly use one yet BUT I have been learning. One roll of film did not turn out (but it was also 20 years old) but one did. The photos on it weren't perfect but they are a good start. So I have begun a "film album" and I want to fill that album up this year and hopefully as I look through it I can hope to see improvements. So keep an eye out for film shots because I hope to share some with you soon.

These photos you are going to view below are special to me. They aren't perfect and they aren't posed or thought out. They are just two kids enjoying their quick swim at grandpa and grandma's pond.

I started photography when I was 15 because I thought it was fun to take a picture and edit it however I wanted. I still do photography because that fun turned into a joy of capturing moments (sounds cliché right?). Something people don't seem to do much anymore is photo albums. How many of you print your photos and stick them into an album? Thats another goal of mine this year and I suggest you try it more often because I think you would like it!

If you love photography, whether its with your DSLR/SLR camera, film camera or even an Iphone comment below this post and let me know why you love it. I look forward to seeing them!
